The bentonite waterproof blanket, professionally named Geosynthetic Clay Liner (GCL), is a high-efficiency eco-friendly anti-seepage geosynthetic material. It is made of high-purity natural sodium bentonite clay as the core raw material, fixed between upper and lower layers of high-strength geotextile through advanced needle-punching composite technology. The whole blanket presents a uniform and stable flexible structure. In a dry state, it is soft and easy to cut and lay; when encountering water, the sodium bentonite particles absorb water and expand rapidly, with the expansion volume up to 15 times of the dry state. Under the constraint of upper and lower geotextiles and engineering pressure, it forms a dense, gel-like impermeable layer with ultra-low permeability, realizing long-term stable waterproof and anti-seepage functions.
This product has a unique self-healing performance, which is its core advantage. When the material is slightly damaged by external piercing or extrusion, the bentonite colloid can automatically fill the gaps and repair the leakage points with the penetration of water, permanently avoiding hidden leakage dangers. It is made of pure natural inorganic bentonite clay, non-toxic, odorless and pollution-free, with excellent environmental compatibility, and will not cause any harm to soil, water body and ecological environment. The material has strong weather resistance, can be constructed normally at -20℃ low temperature, and is resistant to aging, corrosion and biological erosion, with a service life of more than 50 years. In terms of construction, it supports large-area rapid laying, with simple process, no adhesive and hot melting treatment, effectively reducing construction difficulty and labor costs. Meanwhile, it has good tensile strength and structural stability, and can adapt to foundation settlement and slight deformation without cracking or leakage.
Mainly applied in environmental protection anti-seepage (municipal solid waste landfill, hazardous waste storage yard, tailings pond anti-seepage and closure), water conservancy and landscape engineering (artificial lake, reservoir, pond, canal anti-seepage), underground engineering (basement, tunnel, underground garage waterproofing), as well as chemical storage yard, oil depot, sewage treatment tank and other anti-seepage and isolation projects.
